One of my all time favorite illustrators and story tellers just turned 81 this month! (June 10) I am one of the hundreds of thousands of people who can say with out of doubt that "Where The Wild Things Are" has been a fave since the first time my Mother read it to me. Happy Birthday Mr. Sendak and thank you, thank you, thank you!
When I saw the trailer for the upcoming film, I was literally tearing up.

I too am a Maurice Sendak fan, read the books to my kids, too.
But in reading the post, I realized...we share the same birthday! Except my kids will tell you I was born on Groundhog day, before electricity was invented LOL!
