For those of you yearning for the days of grass, terraces and non-slippery sidewalks, let's take a step toward spring together!
We are happy to present to you the beautiful jewelry line Orno, which for some reason just makes me think of spring. The natural woodgrain and simple symmetry of the pieces seems to be feel simple, fresh and perfect for warm weather dressing. Then again, if you're sick and tired of hiding in your apartment from the cold, these could be the perfect mid-winter pick-me-up.
It's become apparent that I need little or no TRUE reason to shop and look at beautiful things....sigh.
The name ORNO itself is the Latin root of the word ornament (to decorate, honor, or distinguish). The montreal designer of this line draws inspiration from the elaborate geometrical patterns in ancient architecture, infusing an age-old concept with a contemporary aesthetic. The collection features materials not normally associated with modern jewelry, such as wood and brass, creating ornament from the most basic of nature’s elements.
Each piece is cut from a simple plank of exotic wood such as Walnut or Mahogany, before being carefully hand sanded and varnished. Absolutely no color is added - only clear varnish to bring out the natural color and grain of each special wood. The result is an original creation, beautiful in both its inherent simplicity and fine craftsmanship.
Here at HQ we're feeling a real swing back to earrings from the ever so popular pendant necklace. Although we still love a good bunch of jewels around our neck, earrings just seem so fresh again.

Hmmm, my best guess would be Out of the Blue in Osborne Village, they have lots of great stuff.
Of course if you see something you really love you can always e-mail me for the price and I can send it to you too!
