A Big Welcome to Day-Lab!

When Tyson and I first decided to open HQ our first step was to do TONS of online research. We wanted to find out more about small clothing & accessories lines, the people that made them, what steps they took, and how they networked. One of the first sites I stumbled upon was Day-Lab. I quickly fell in love with everything on the site, and vowed to one day (when we were ready) start carrying her selectively picked vintage and handmade items at HQ.

Beautiful little enameled necklace

That day has finally come!

We started with a small selection of goodies, but Amy is constantly offering new and great items, so keep your eyes open for new stock from Amy from time to time. These pics are just a few of the items we got, you'll have to come down yourself to see the rest!

Here's a little background info on Day-Lab and it's owner, Amy Shutt

The lady herself

Launched in February 2005, day-lab is run out of the beautiful University Lakes area in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where Amy lives with her 11 year old daughter Logan and their three rescued cats Pearl, Cleo, and Minou. She also maintains the blog project day-lab DIY. (I highly recommend it, very inspiring for fun projects!)

Really great vintage tooled leather bracelets.
The names we got are Jennifer, Judy, Andrea, Vickie
& Susie

When Amy started day-lab she had just turned 30 and was in her last year of college pursuing a degree in Philosophy (concentration Religious Studies: Theory and History of Religion) with minors in Art History and Photography. Amy says that Day-lab just happened to explode into a full fledged business that keeps her very busy since she has graduated. Like the major and minors of her degree, day-lab is also a reflection of her overlapping interests that never cease to evolve or change direction.

Another great thing is that each month a percentage of day-lab's profits are donated to the World Society for the Protection of Animals. Please visit their site for more information on this amazing international animal welfare organization!
